Export cartons from India: ply, marking and pallet basics
Export from India usually needs double-wall 5-ply (or a buyer-specified ECT) cubes that are marked, taped and palletised — e-commerce mailers and thin 3-ply shippers are the wrong tool once cartons will be restacked through multiple terminals.

Why export differs from Delhivery
More handoffs, taller stacks, humidity swings, and buyers who write board specs into the PO. A carton that survives domestic surface may still fail after two weeks in a container aisle.
Board and size
Start with PackWorks 5-ply export-oriented cubes (for example 12 × 12 × 10, 15 × 10 × 8, 18 × 12 × 12 inch class) and confirm against the buyer’s ECT/BF if stated. Use 7-ply sheets as layer pads on heavy rows. Do not fill a giant cube with air to “look like a full pallet load.”
- Agree inner dimensions with the buyer’s warehouse scan guns in mind
- Leave room for corner boards and stretch wrap in the outer ship plan
- Sample pack with actual product density before booking the container
Marks and documents
Stencil or label PO number, destination, handling marks and country of origin as the contract requires. Printed “Fragile” tape helps handlers; it does not replace proper board. Keep the commercial invoice and packing list aligned with carton counts — packaging HSN on your PackWorks purchase is separate from the goods you export.
Pallet basics
