How to request and use a packaging sample pack before bulk
Before you buy a full pack or a 500-piece print run, order PackWorks sample boxes, pack your real product with your real fill, measure the closed outer size for fees, drop-test it, and only then lock the size — a failed sample is cheaper than a wrong MOQ.

What to order
Pick two candidate sizes (the size-finder top picks), and both finishes if you are unsure (kraft vs white, or 3-ply vs 5-ply). Add a courier bag if you might overbag in monsoon. Sample SKUs exist so you are not forced into a 100-piece pack to learn the die.
Lab protocol (10 minutes)
Treat it like a mini QA gate, not an Instagram unboxing.
- Pack exactly as the bench will — same wrap, same tape pattern
- Shake test: listen for rattle
- Waist-height drop on base and one long side onto cardboard (not concrete for first pass)
- Measure outer L×W×H in cm; run ÷ 5000 vs your fee card
- Open and inspect product + board crease
- Photograph failures so purchasing and ops agree
Pass → buy; fail → iterate
Pass: order pack quantities for the winning size; if branding is required and size is stable, brief flexo. Fail: change size or ply, not the logo first. Never approve a print plate on an untested inner dimension.
| Result | Next buy |
|---|---|
| Fit + fee OK, light scuff only | Full pack of that size |
| Rattle / crease | Next size or add pad; re-sample |
| Crush in stack | 5-ply or tighter stack rules; re-sample |
| Fee too high | Smaller size or bag (if product allows) |
Where samples live
Shop the Sample Boxes category for single-piece and small-pack options across mailers and shippers. GST still applies; keep the invoice if you are testing for a registered business purchase programme.
